What To Wear
DRESS CODE
You can never be overdressed or overeducated. – Oscar Wilde
The way you dress changes your manners. - – Voltaire
Dressing well is a form of good manners.” – Tom Ford
For Our Ladies: Cotillion dresses should be modest and age appropriate with hemlines no shorter than 4 inches above the knee. To facilitate dancing, a fuller skirt is more appropriate rather than a tight, pencil skirt. It is helpful to have your young lady raise her hand overhead to simulate dancing to make sure her dress clothes will continue to fit during the many fun twirls and turns at cotillion! White wrist length gloves. Gloves may be purchased at Amazon.com. Appropriate shoes: Flats, Sandals, Wedge Heels, and Kitten Heels. Please avoid very high heels, trust me, you will regret it by the end of the evening. No tennis shoes, or Doc Martins, please.
For Our Gentlemen: Cotillion appropriate outfit includes dress pants, dress shoes, (no sneakers), dress shirt (check for all buttons), tie or bowtie, and a blazer or sports coat (check for all buttons and a proper fit). A suit would also be appropriate. Be sure to try out your outfit prior to Night 1. Be sure all buttons are there, and your dress shoes are comfortable.
Our 7th & 8th Graders will have theme nights on Nights 3 (Country Western) and 4 (Beach Night). Dress Code will be discussed in class.
Our final night is your party night. Please be sure to look your best!
There is no chewing gum during cotillion class.
